Cisco Develops Smart mobile Robot for Wireless Connectivity

Cisco has built-up a set of little smart robots, which can communicate wirelessly. It means that when a mobile user goes out of service area, this device can follow that user to continue with the connectivity.   

Cisco had delivered little information about this robot in Military Technologies Conference, held at Boston. The marketing manager, Dave Buster at Cisco Global Government Solutions Group said that to sustain the connectivity, this robot can follow a user upto anyplace. In the meet, it was also said that these robots are a part of “information on the move” project at Cisco. It is basically a wide-ranging plan to make all the gears wireless. 

Most probably there is no possibility from the Cisco’s side to market that software, but it can become available to the partners who are interested in putting it on an Unnamed Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

It is not a big issue that the system contains an enterprise application or not. Whatever may be the condition, it is a system of high interest for the military and the Army’s future warfare systems, which uses advanced technology to achieve superiority in the battleground. According to the Cisco experts, this robot could play a vital part to enable the communication in those service systems.

These are the first of its kind box shaped robots. These types of smart little robots will be gaining high popularity in the future. The robots are mainly being developed to perform multiple compound tasks, like inception, assembly, habitat construction, maintenance, space and on planet exploration and surface landing. The different sets of modules are linked in order to enable the robot to handle multiple tasks instead of having that robot devoted to a single task.  The conventional approach for creating distinct robots for distinct tasks is no longer enough for reasonable space research and exploration.
